The month of March has been another very busy month for all of us here at Scurry-Rosser Elementary School. We started off the month naming our Student of the Month for March, 2nd grader Landon Hulshouser, from Mrs. Ferguson’s class. We ended that first week of March with our third graders traveling to the Perot Museum on their field trip. The students got treated to an educational video about Super Heroes, then toured the museum with their groups. They also got to picnic in the courtyard of the museum for lunch. Thanks once again to Hatcher Sanitation and SRES PTO for helping fund this wonderful field trip. Fun in learning was had by all.
The next week found us all on Spring Break; which was well-needed and well-deserved. After returning from Spring Break, students and teachers, alike, continued working hard in class, preparing for our end of the year assessments. The science lab has been full of students doing experiments, learning about the weather, and graphing their results. The computer lab has been hopping, from before school to after school, with students researching sites, preparing for the STAAR and TELPAS tests, creating documents as well as expanding their computer skills.
Next came Spring class pictures and another well-deserved day off for Good Friday. We ended the month by celebrating our Shining Stars for the month and our AR readers for the 3rd nine weeks of school. As you can see, SRES continues to be a “happening place!”
Remember, you are always welcome at Scurry-Rosser Elementary School, Where the Wildcat Tradition Begins. Take care and God Bless.
