‘Tis the Season for Christmas Blessings here at Scurry-Rosser Elementary School. Our month of December has been an eventful one.
We began the month with naming a new student of the month for December, 1st grader Jake Ruffin. Our first big event of the month was our school-wide Christmas program, which was a huge success. Everyone did a wonderful job on their singing as well as their speaking and dancing parts. Lots of family and community members came out for this program. We appreciate your support. A BIG thank you to our PTO parents who helped with decorating and clean up for our program. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you also to Mrs. Hinojoza for directing a fabulous program. It was a magical night.
For the month of December our students have been learning how important it is to have integrity and to be generous. We celebrated our shining stars who were chosen for the character traits of “integrity” and “generosity.” Next, our students were treated to a Christmas story read aloud by some of our NJHS students from our Scurry-Rosser Middle School. Thank you guys for coming over. Our kids loved the stories.
The last week before Christmas vacation was full of many blessings. Those students who sold 15 items or more during our campus fundraiser were treated to a Big Kahuna “party bus ride” to Kaufman McDonald’s where they were treated to lunch and some well-deserved play time! Thank you to those teachers and parents who helped chaperone this trip. We rounded out the week by celebrating the “Night Before Christmas Vacation” at school. Our entire campus wore their PJs to school. During specials that day, they were treated to a cup of hot chocolate and a Christmas movie. Some classes even had a special visitor come to their rooms for a Christmas story read aloud.
The final event of this busy month was our school Christmas parties. Lots of merriment and joy were had by all.
We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas break and a Blessed New Year! We will see you all next year! Don’t forget you are always welcome at Scurry-Rosser Elementary School, Where the Wildcat Tradition Begins.
