Pre-Kindergarten
Pre-K continues on the path of knowledge! Our kids are like sponges soaking up sounds and letters. All can recite their ABC’s and can count to ten and some much higher. We are all enjoying the spirit of Christmas!
Kindergarten
We had a great Christmas program! All the students did a marvelous job! Thank you to Mrs. Hinojoza for a job well done!
We are looking forward to our many Christmas activities including: story time with the principal, wearing our pajamas, and enjoying our Happy Meals during our Christmas parties. Just a reminder, your child needs to bring a wrapped book for the gift exchange.
From Our family to Yours, We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! See you back on January 5!
First Grade
First graders helped put on a wonderful Christmas program for all to enjoy. The teachers would like to thank our students for their hard work and practice as well as all the staff and aides who helped pull it all together. We’d like to thank the parents and community members for attending and showing their support. But a BIG thank you must go out to our music teacher, Mrs. Hinojoza, whose hard work and dedication made the evening such a joyous experience. Thank you Mrs. Hinijosa, you were awesome! The teachers also want to remind parents that students need to continue reading during the Christmas break. This is a wonderful time to share some special holiday stories and make some special holiday memories reading together. Wishing all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Second Grade
The Christmas Elves have arrived in second grade. They have caused a lot of excitement and left the kids wondering where they will find them each day. We have already read How the Grinch Stole Christmas and now starting The Polar Express. We are also studying Christmas Around the World in Social Studies. We are writing Santa Letters and awaiting his arrival on Christmas Day. Christmas Parties are being planned. Each second grader needs to bring a wrapped book for a book exchange at our Christmas Parties. The parties are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.
Third Grade
Whew! The year is going by so fast, here we are at Christmas already! Third grade has been super busy with all the preparations for the Christmas activities coming up in addition to everything we have been learning in class. In math, we are learning how to read bar graphs, pictographs, dot plots and tally & frequency charts. In science, we have been learning all about the solar system and the order of the planets. We will be reading Polar Express and will retell the story by making our own books! In Language Arts, we are writing a Procedural Text: “How to Decorate a Christmas Tree.” Afterwards, we will decorate one! The countdown to Christmas has begun, and the students can’t wait for their 9- weeks celebration of good behavior. On Thursday, December 17th, we get to wear our pajamas, drink hot cocoa and watch a Christmas movie or two while we have fun making a Christmas craft! The same day, students are also allowed to bring their electronic devices to school (iPads, tablets, DS systems, etc). Remember, if students bring an electronic device, they take full responsibility for taking care of it. We will never allow them to leave our classrooms with it and we’ll lock the doors as we leave the room.
