Inside the Wildcat Watch: Principal Report

November is here and there are only 15 days until Thanksgiving break! YIKES! This year is flying by so fast that it is hard to keep up with the staff and students of Scurry-Rosser Elementary School.
Lots of great things are happening within the walls of SRES. We have UIL academic teams being formed to compete on December 12th. Wacky and amazing science experiments are being done daily by various grade levels. Variety Friday activities are being led by our “Specials” teachers and fabulous creations are being made by all of our SRES students.
Earlier in the month, we had our students and staff pledge to keep their “PAWS off Drugs” during our Drug Prevention Week. We have also supported our community members battling breast cancer by wearing PINK for PINK OUT week! During this jam-packed month, we also supported our Scurry-Rosser Wildcats by celebrating the week of Homecoming.
Next, our second grade classes traveled to Yesterland Farm in Canton for their field trip where they learned all about pumpkins, how they grow, how they are harvested and they even got to bring a pumpkin of their very own home with them from their trip. It was a wonderful day.
We rounded out our month of October with a performance by our 2nd grade “Mystery Theater,”
Storybook character parade and our 1st nine weeks PAWS assembly. Thank you to everyone who attended these events. You all helped make them extra special.
Lastly, we finished up our first campus-wide fundraiser which was a huge success! Thank you to everyone for helping our school raise funds for attendance incentives, AR incentives and staff incentives.
