The Scurry-Rosser Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (S/R PTO) would like to welcome you to the Scurry-Rosser School District and extend a hearty “Welcome Back” to all returning families! We hope you all had a relaxing and wonderful summer!
Scurry-Rosser Elementary School (SRE) has a very active Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), and we hope you’ll consider joining us.
Our goals include:
Fostering better understanding of the learning process through communication between parents/guardians and faculty
Helping to meet the needs of all students through cooperation between family and school
Supporting the school through volunteer and financial assistance
Members of the PTO include parents and guardians of SRE students, faculty members, and professional staff. There are many opportunities to volunteer, whatever your talents, interests, or time constraints. Funds to support all PTO-sponsored programs and purchases are generated through direct donations and parent-coordinated fund-raisers. All parents are invited and encouraged to participate in the S/R PTO’s activities. Your involvement in your child’s school does make a difference! Ongoing fund-raisers that you can start participating in immediately are on the back.
Last year, the participation and support of PTO members contributed to the success of many events including the Spirit Store, Christmas Store, Book Fair, Duct Tape Fund-raiser and Glow Walk. The funds raised from these events ensured we were able to give back to the school. The PTO provided teachers with a back to school gift, snacks from our food cart, Christmas and Teacher Appreciation gifts as well as miscellaneous classroom supplies as needed. Students all received a free school shirt at the beginning of the school year and a free book from the Book Fair. In addition the PTO helped fund field trips so all students would be able to attend and additional playground equipment was purchased and installed for the students over the summer.
PTO meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Our first meeting this year will be Tuesday, September 8 at 6:30PM in the Scurry-Rosser Elementary School Library. We hope you will join us. All are welcome to attend.
