Well we made it! The 2014-2015 school year has been very successful thanks to all of the hard work by the Scurry-Rosser students, teachers, staff, parents, and volunteers.

We ended the school year with an extremely eventful month of May. We began the month with Kindergarten Roundup, where our new kindergarten prospects for the 2015-2016 school year came out to visit and register for school. On Friday, May 8th, our 2nd graders traveled to the middle school for the Cinco de Mayo celebration while our 3rd graders traveled to the Perot Museum in Dallas on their annual field trip. Lots of fun was had by all!

The next week in May, our 3rd graders went on a tour of the middle school to see where they will be going to school next year. When asked what they were most excited about for middle school some of the common responses were “having a locker” and “having art class.” They all seemed to come back very excited for 2015 - 2016 school year.

May continued to be extremely busy with Kindergarten graduation. The graduates performed several songs, received lots of awards and took many, many pictures. It was a wonderful night. Our kindergarten teachers did a great job in preparation for the event. A special thanks goes to Mrs. Hinojoza, Coach Prince, Mrs. Bridwell, and Mrs. V. Hatcher for all of their help as well as the kinder moms who volunteered. Thanks also to Coach Bachtel and his crew who set up the gym for our kindergarten graduates. We ended the week with celebrating our Shining Stars. May’s character trait was responsibility. All of our students for Shining Stars were chosen for being responsible students.

We ended the eventful month of May with Pre-K graduation/awards program, water day, the annual Parking Lot Picnic, PTO Duct Tape Fundraiser and the PTO Glow Walk. As you can see, May was full of fun!

As we come to the end of the 2014-2015, I have to say Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to everyone for making my first year at Scurry-Rosser Elementary School a GREAT ONE! I hope everyone has a fun-filled summer! See you next year!
