Inside the Wildcat Watch: Principal Report

Spring has sprung at Scurry-Rosser Elementary School. We began our month with Special Olympics Basketball Competition. We had two of our students compete, Ty Taliaferro and Justus Matthews. Each boy competed well and they each brought home a medal. Good job Ty and Justus.

Next, in our jam-packed month, came a long but wet Spring Break. It was a much needed week of rest and helped us all refuel for our busy spring ahead. We had one bad weather day that had to be made up which we did on March 16, 2015. Now we just have one more bad weather day make-up day left and that will take place on June 5th, which happens to be the last day of school, so mark it on your calendars now.

After returning from spring break the entire school began a “Pennies for Patients” campaign where our entire school collected coins for patients fighting leukemia and lymphoma. It was a huge success and we want to thank everyone for giving so generously to this great cause.

We rounded out our month of March with Pictures with the Wildcats. Several of our star athletes came over to pose for pictures with our students. Thanks Coach Bachtel and Mr. Collins for allowing your students to come over for this spirited event.

We ended the month by celebrating our Shining Stars for the month of March. This month our character trait for Shining Stars was being studious. Each child selected exemplified how being studious helps in all aspects of your life. March was a very productive and restful month here at Scurry-Rosser Elementary School.

The next two months of school are jam-packed with events so please remember to check your child’s “moose binder” daily for upcoming events and notes home. Starting the first week of April field trips begin so make sure you have your child’s permission slip signed and turned in along with their field trip fee.

Thanks for everyone’s support and please remember, you are always welcome at Scurry-Rosser Elementary, Where the Wildcat Tradition Begins.
