February has flown by and now we are on to MARCH!!!! The past couple of months have been a whirlwind ride here at Scurry-Rosser Elementary School.
We started off the month with a visit from the “tooth” fairy. She came to talk to all the boys and girls of SRES about good dental health. On the first Friday of the month, we celebrated 100 days of school. We had a lot of students, and teachers alike, dress up like they were 100 years old. Each grade level did their own fun activities centered around the number 100. It was a lot of fun.
We then moved onto our annual book fair put on by our fabulous PTO. With the help of our parents and grandparents within the community, the PTO was able to raise enough money to put a book in every child’s hand. What a wonderful way to spend funds raised. Thank you PTO for all you do for our students and staff of SRES. We rounded out our busy week by celebrating Valentine’s Day. Each class had a party with lots of treats and much LOVE!
After returning from our President’s day holiday, our third grade began their after-school tutoring in preparation for their STAAR tests scheduled for April. Our students and teachers have been working very hard and I know they will succeed in their STAAR challenge. Keep up the hard work third grade!
We ended the month by celebrating our Shining Stars for the month of February. This month our character trait for Shining Stars was being a good citizen. Each child selected exemplified how important it is to be a good citizen. All in all, February was an awesome month here at Scurry-Rosser Elementary School.
The next three months of school are jam-packed with events so please remember to check your child’s “moose binder” daily for upcoming events and notes home. Every grade level has a field trip planned so be looking for more information to be coming home soon.
Thanks for everyone’s support and please remember, you are always welcome at Scurry-Rosser Elementary, Where the Wildcat Tradition Begins.
