What a time we have had at Scurry-Rosser Elementary over the past month. During this time, we have hosted the Academic UIL meet at Victory Church where our students did awesome. Scurry-Rosser ISD brought home 2nd place overall in the meet. SRES had several of our students place in their individual events and we are so proud of their efforts. We will be recognizing and celebrating these students in our upcoming PAWS assembly on January 16, 2015. Thanks to the students and teachers for all of their hard work. We want to thank Victory Church for allowing us to host the UIL event at their church. It was a perfect location and their generosity is greatly appreciated. THANK YOU Victory Church!
Last week we had our wonderfully entertaining Christmas Program produced by Mrs. Amber Hinojoza, our music teacher. We want to thank the entire community for coming out to support our kids and thank Mrs. Hinojoza for doing a superb job preparing our students for their performance. We also want to extend a huge thank you to our PTO for giving us each a special treat for the 12 days of Christmas. It made each day very special.
We finished out the month of December celebrating our Shining Stars and having our classroom Christmas Parties. There is lots in store for the month of January but for now it is time for everyone to enjoy the holiday season, cherish our friends and family and always remember what the Christmas Season is all about, the birth of our savior. Thanks to my entire staff for a wonderful fall semester and thanks to all of our parents and students for making Scurry-Rosser Elementary School the best place to be. I hope everyone has a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year!
