Kindergarten
Kindergarten is off to a great start! We are learning many new things such as colors, numbers, our ABC’s and establishing routines. By the third week of school we will begin our more in depth study of each individual letter, sight words, how to read and numbers. We look forward to an exciting year of learning and new adventures.
First Grade
First grade had a busy first week reviewing letters, sounds, sight words and numbers from kindergarten. The first grade teachers were very pleased with how well most students retained information from last year and feel the class is ready to move ahead to learning first grade spelling and sight words. The first grade students have enjoyed meeting our new principal and have learned to listen quietly each morning in the gym during our morning meeting.
Second Grade
Welcome to a great and exciting year in second grade. This year your child will be going to all four teachers. Mrs. Moeller teaches phonics, reading and spelling. Language Arts is taught by Ms. Stewart. Mrs. Ferguson teaches math and Mrs. Betik teaches Science/Social Studies. Remember that we are in a nine week grading period. Parents, please check the Moose Binder daily. Make sure you are signing the behavior chart.
Third Grade
Third grade teachers would like to say a big “Thank You” to our families for giving us the privilege to teach your awesome kids! We have begun the school year establishing procedures and getting to know each other. Discovering fun ways to learn is being implemented with work stations, new math manipulatives, and “Buzzer Mania.” In Math, “Multiplication Monsters” will begin the third week of school with every 3rd grader starting on their 2’s facts, and gradually climbing the wall towards fluency. Science vocabulary quizzes, ELAR spelling tests, and reading logs will also begin the third week of school, so….Get those flashcards ready! Remember reading every night is a guarantee for success!
